WelcomeEdit

Hi, welcome to Fish Wrangler Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Wranglers' Guide page.

Please leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything! -- 127.0.0.1 (Talk) 16:05, July 7, 2011

Welcome to the Fish Wrangler Wiki. A Wikia Modifier (talk) 19:39, May 18, 2014 (UTC)

No, I don't mind you finishing the fish of Coral Lobby page. I'm glad to have someone helping. :) I'm also working on the 60 day badge with ~8 days left. :) I will be the 1st to get this, which is exciting for me. I've been doing small changes here and there when I get a chance. Under my profile, is the link to my FW profile, which includes my uid.

Thanks, Jed. Yep, that's me. There hasn't been too many people editing here for a while so it's nice to have someone come along. A Wikia Modifier (talk) 23:46, May 19, 2014 (UTC)

Just thought I'd pop in and say hello. I used to be a lot more active here but life took over. Anyway... I updated the navigation links. Feel free to make some more changes or if you have any suggestions, that could be helpful for others as well. DrewR (talk) 04:31, November 19, 2014 (UTC)

Adoption Edit

Hi. I’ve given you admin and bureaucrat rights on this wikia as you requested. You now have the tools you need to clean up, customize and maintain the wikia.

Check out your Admin Dashboard, which can by found by clicking "Admin" on the bottom toolbar -- it has links to all your new tools. Please let me know if you have any questions, and good luck with your new (old) wikia! -- Wendy (talk@fandom 01:55, June 19, 2014 (UTC)

Updates Edit

Well... Since I was admin here and I made a lot of changes, I was automatically following most of the pages already as I made a lot of the Roperian fish pages myself using the templates that were set in place even before I got here.

I'm sure there's quite a few pages that could use some cleaning/dusting off that have just fallen aside over the years. Since I haven't been as active, I'm not sure what the majority of active people would use the most but I'm sure the home page could use some revamping as well as pages with incomplete information like Boats. Edit: Might help if I log in, ha. DrewR (talk) 00:44, November 20, 2014 (UTC)

Side note... In terms of merging pages together, maybe I was thinking of an older release of Wikia before they updated the Wikia layouts. Some pages do need to be deleted entirely, but I think some could just be redirected to other pages. For example, you could merge Elite Fish into The Fish. DrewR (talk) 00:47, November 20, 2014 (UTC)

Yes, but how do you even merge pages? For the most part, I have been tinkering with pages to see how they work & started out by copying an old page & making adjustments when I created a new page. We had a bit of vandals who were replacing the familiar lb weight with kg, and adding pages at a extreme rate but forgetting to put in details. Sometimes it took more work to fix them then it did to create them ourselves. Btw, what's your UID so we can be crew? (or just add the link on your old dusty profile page ;) ) Jeydo (talk) 16:51, November 20, 2014 (UTC)

I looked around some more and I guess it looks like nothing is linked to that page so I'm okay with the deletion. I don't think there's any way to merge pages together now. I believe you can only redirect old pages to new ones. My FW profile is here. DrewR (talk) 02:39, November 24, 2014 (UTC)

It might be worth making new templates for the baby poles and addons since there are no quests associated with them. Not sure what your thought was. DrewR (talk) 12:25, May 25, 2015 (UTC)

Wild Wrangler Edit

As an option I made a Wild Wrangler Wikia which is linked here. I also made a crab page which can be found here. Obviously, it's a work in progress but I think this would be a lot easier to display information than the current wiki format that the game uses now. Let me know your thoughts. Hit me up on Facebook if you would like. I have my phone so I will get the messages one way or another. DrewR (talk) 03:45, May 26, 2015 (UTC)

I have not told Joe. In fact, I'm not really sure the best way to contact him... Like I said, haven't really talked to him over the years... Anyway, making you and admin is easy. I added you to the admin group... Hopefully that worked. Let me know if it did not. As for the other concern, that can be found on this page I think. Alternatively, you could use this page. These are both Special pages that can be accessed on any Wikia including this one as part of the Admin dashboard I believe. DrewR (talk) 11:41, May 26, 2015 (UTC)

Wahwahville Edit

Can you look at and see why Wahwahville is not tabulating and including Stwiped Dialo Fish in the fish table? It is missing and I dont know why or how to fix it.Kevin "Hawk" Fisher (talk) 18:02, May 1, 2017 (UTC)

Well, not sure why specifically - but checking the 'edit' showed this in the Source. SO it likely, just needs to be added along with all new Farovian fish. Same goes for Roperian counterpart. ;) Jeydo (talk) 07:10, May 2, 2017 (UTC)

http://fishwrangler.wikia.com/wiki/Farovia_fish_summary?action=edit

Ahh, simple answer is - DAMN BABY NAMES!! Someone put Diablo instead of Dialo - so quick fix here! Thanks for finding & pointing it out Kev! Jeydo (talk)
Awesome! Thank you, I did not understand that page at all lol since all one can immediately see is just header table row. Tbh I have not really messed much with templates or infoboxes for that matter. Kevin "Hawk" Fisher (talk) 07:44, May 2, 2017 (UTC)

New Boat table Edit

Can you look at my profile page? I am thinking about changing the boat table, while I like it better, wanted to see what someone else thinks about my proposed change. Boat table way it is currently is at top of my profile page, with my newer table below it. My table still needs lil bit of tweaking, but should give you general idea of what I am proposing. So what do you think, leave old table alone or is newer one better? Kevin "Hawk" Fisher (talk) 09:51, May 15, 2017 (UTC)

If you really need to add the Speed you can, but I do like the setup of the boats next to each other. Maybe we could make it mil instead of x,000,000. Or k instead of k00,000 (Ex: like 100k vs 100000 and 4mil vs 4000000) if we need to shrink the size of the tables. However, I'd like leave off the passenger capacity part, as only the Beat up Dinghy has 5 and it can only be used in two ports also. We can get the rest of the info from the individual boat pages. Boats are pretty simplified, and perhaps the boat speed is more important than the cost. After the first boat, the rest are generally affordable.

And I'm not sure how it's viewed on a phone - as most players play this game still with laptops, or both. How they usually view FW Wiki will still be needed for both either way, so even if they scrolling, let's try to make sure it looks great in both previews, Kevin Fisher. Tight lines! Jeydo (talk) 00:44, May 26, 2017 (UTC)

Yea good point about mobile view, especially as Joe has been making more of an effort with font etc aligning to mobiles, trying to attract more of that market I guess. That is however another good point and reason not to have them next to each other horizontally like currently and instead viewed vertically except my table defeated that purpose with all that info. All these years, I have never liked that boat table since Alcatraz was introduced, prior to that speed didnt make much difference. So I was trying to incorporate all basic info that ingame has ... but understand everything you say. Idk, will tinker lil more with it and see how it shapes up with Mobile Preview. That old table has been around and survived this long so beginning to think I am in minority.

hidden Roperia Boat images. Edit

Is there really much point in only showing the hidden images for the Roperian boats? Not that I much care, however I can actually see images for 3 of 4 boats and do not actually have single Roperia boat. The only one I can not see, is the hidden Cabin Cruiser.

Although I dont have any boats, I know for sure the Folsom Cruiser image was hidden prior to me purchasing Basic Marksmanship skill (only other skill I have is Filtration 101). That might have made Hoverin Craft image viewable for me as well, I dont recall, but its associated Clockwise Navigation skill is prior to Basic Marksmanship so it might have unlocked both images at same time.

More importantly can you have look at my newest revised note on Folsom Cruiser. It is kinda wordy, but wanted to portray details as to why you can find yourself in that situation and why its not really advisable too.

Ideas wanting you to review/feedback Edit

Please make a separate entry for any updates here with a time stamp (~) or label in the topic. But you can reply to any of my feedback here for now Kevin. :)

Current Projects working on, getting all Fish images included in Fish Images category (have ~400 left). There were only around couple hundred of what appeared to most originally that were categorized. I am ONLY including hidden images so that we can see running total, if you want revealed to be categorized, I can do that as well but suggest it has its own category (I prefer to leave them as is).

Also still working on finishing rest 2016 Changelog Archive, I have been trying to update wiki with info given in there at same time. That year is only one still unfinished. Now on to more ideas...

1) Wranglers Guide. For those starting out or just finding wiki there really isnt any good starting point from FW wiki main page, except if you want to consider this. Problems are its old, outdated and not really finished. Most importantly is no mention about fact that you can now have option of starting off in Roperia (or no real Roperia page at all). I do NOT intend to finish this page, yet I would like to start Roperia page and include some quick info at start of Wranglers Guide. Issue is since Wranglers Guide to Farovia which does go quite far, but isnt ever finished, I have my doubts that anyone with low activity will really contribute to adding to it and I certainly wont for long time if ever. So should we just try to keep it more basic? Just give some basic info, list of locations/islands etc? Or should we actually try start Roperia page plus Roperia Wranglers Guide?

You can move all outdated info of the Wranglers guide to the bottom & crossed out & start fresh. Slowly work on it , as it might not ever get worked on. Yet start a Roperia page even though it's story is pretty loose, and slowly develop a Roperia's Wranglers guide, although it doesn't differ too much from Farovia, except you usually need a collection set to move on.
DONE, at least as much as am going to for now. Added note about Roperia in Wranglers Guide (and couple other changes), plus description to Roperia. Kevin "Hawk" Fisher 16:29, June 15, 2017 (UTC)

2) Making minor edits, grammar etc is easy enough. However, I find and am sure most others do as well that adding any new content is daunting to say the least. Just like at that long list of what all needs to be done to add a new fish for example. My aim is to attempt to make it less daunting and much shorter and hopefully manageable list that others will potentially want to add and contribute more. So is some method to my madness even if doesnt appear that way .... yet :P

Why not just start 1-5 'How to' pages then? One can be about doing a Fish , the other can be about adding a new picture, like a resource to the page. New island , New pole, and also updating the fish lists page. What you can do is explain how the SANDBOX allows you to edit things & also PREVIEW for Mobile & Desktop show the changes before you add them, so you can see where you left off.
There already is Adding Fish, starting others sure if arent any (havent actually checked). I look at that list and just go uhm nvm, at least I did for years. It should be much simpler if wiki was structured well. Add to 1, 2 or maybe 3 at most instead of going through whole page things to check. Fish for example, you add actual fish page and maybe need to add to one or two other pages (not whole list to check for). I envision for example, Create new fish page, IF is Mythical, Elite, LTG you need to add to its respective page as well. Done. New Island location, add its page and to Islands page, etc. This is biggest reason I ask about getting DPL extension, but idk might be able to find way around it. Kevin "Hawk" Fisher 08:08, June 12, 2017 (UTC)

3) Roperia really should have been seperated somehow into its own. Like having all named Roperia:Nizon_River; Roperia:Glacier_Tooth_Fish. Would have been so much easier making lists of everything. However at this late stage I am not going to try change it now, but try find ways around it.

Yes, well sadly it's not. But every Roperian fish has it's own banner so that's fine. And there's no real difference in Roperia islands vs Farovian ones , but if you want we can make colors perhaps so they're instantly recognizable. Most lists are already made anyway. So not sure what's your trying to get around from doing? (If you like, add each Roperian island to Roperia category. But we shouldn't get too crazy with categories, most are automatic anyway.)

4) Category Hierarchy. Appears was structured pretty well to begin with but over time, and with all Admin changes, that has kinda been neglected. I have been attempting categorize w/e I am able, but so many things not certain of. See my spread of 2 sheets here.

Zoho Docs , I don't have an account. Can you please explain it more for me & so I can as well if anyone asks about it? Or at least link to the page here. :)
Ah sorry about that, what about Google account and dont even think you need one to view it there. Google Doc It is just so much easier showing than trying to explain. Kevin "Hawk" Fisher 08:08, June 12, 2017 (UTC)
- I'm lost now. What aren't you sure of? Or were you just trying to explain it to me - I guess I need a side by side comparison. I can see the Google Doc - but what should I be looking at Kevin? Jeydo (talk) 17:31, June 12, 2017 (UTC)
Mostly all the parts in red. Those are dealing with changes, and wanted you to confirm if you agree with those recommended changes. Red with no * means there is no such Category that I am wanting to create new Category (only couple of those like Skills under Equip category). Red with a * are notes. Some just simply involve removing and/or moving under another Category (mostly Island locations). The big one that I just really dont know what to do involves new category Farovia. As there is Roperia, just seems logical to me to have Farovia one as well, but have no clue where in hierarchy or how it should be done. Kevin "Hawk" Fisher 18:29, June 13, 2017 (UTC)

5) DPL extenstion. Can we get DPL (Dynamic Page List) PLEASE :D Everything would be so much easier (at least for me) as I am more familiar with that than all these templates of tables and rows that seem to keep breaking image links. Not sure they will allow us to have it, but imho wont hurt to ask. (This would really help cut down all those pages you need to add like 1 fish too)

Explain what it is, how it's different, and easier for all. Most people need something simple if they're to make edits. If you can show me the differences, that might be better. How would I ask though also? Jeydo (talk) 02:15, June 12, 2017 (UTC)
It is supposedly a pretty powerful extension and can do much more than I know, which is why Wikia does not always grant all wiki using it. I dont know if it would be easier for all (personally think so as I find it easier but dont really know). However, all users for most part wouldnt really need to use or mess with it, once some templates are set up with it, it would allow auto adding to other pages much easier. Thereby limiting need for users having to know or check what all other pages a new fish for example would need adding too. Structure of commands is what I find easier, plus does more. You could simply do |nottitlematch=NF for example to not include NF fish or |prefers=Steak Chum will list every fish prefer steak.
DPL think has 3 versions, first can only be rqst from wikia DPL, other two which I believe are known as DPL2 and DPL3 can be downloaded and installed. DPL 3rd party but dont know much about them. Kevin "Hawk" Fisher 08:08, June 12, 2017 (UTC)
-If you really want it, you may request it. However, I can't say I'd grant access to using it here until we're all able to use it proficiently too. Learning templates isn't as difficult as learning another language too right? It's like taking people who know just Algebra (the masses of FW users) & me who loves math + knows Algebra/Trig straight into a Honors Calculus class. At least, until you can show me a comparison to figure it out myself or until we both can teach others how to do it (you have to show me first) then I can't recommend it unless you have the time to explain. Part of the fun is FW Wikians being able to add changes they feel needed. So if I add something others like myself aren't sure how or able to use , I would feel like I'm screwing someone. I know it might be easier to use - but I'm not against talking about it. Just perhaps let's focus on some other things since there's going to be a new level soon. And if you feel ready & have the time to commit to teaching it to me or others - then I would feel a warm & fuzzy over bringing it here. If for some reason you can't or aren't good at teaching, ask a friend who is to help me. Sorry asking you to do the foot work, I just don't have time to research it personally right now. Which sections will benefit from it, etc?
Kevin, do you do this in any other Wikis?! I would like to see it there if that helps. :)
I can make the time and I am good at teaching generally. But I do not feel comfortable enough attempting to teach this, I am familiar with it but do not know it well enough. For most part it is pretty straight forward, yet it also can be used pretty in depth. It is more like a template, where all most users have to do is fill in what field you want it to do after the equal sign. The problem is you also have to know what all the simple commands are (or that you want to use) and more importantly some of which you need explanations on what it does. Lot are self-explanatory but a lot aren't. So think it is just best to leave it alone. Kevin "Hawk" Fisher 18:29, June 13, 2017 (UTC)

6) Records Category? Should we have records category and My Records page explaining the various types? Or simply leave it alone. Been w/out this long.

No need for a records category. But you can make a Records page explaining things like Most Catches, Streak, etc & link to those pages. Please link to it & explain, as it doesn't sound useful if it isn't been used. I haven't since I started editing. Please link to it, so I can inspect it further Kevin.

7) No Resource Exchange page. We only have Sigs Shell Shoppe, but not exchange. Do we really need this or do we need add info onto Shell Shoppe page?

Don't really need it. Yet you can add the info the Shell Shoppe, because all it is really is a extension of it. I really hope Joe doesn't remove it also, so less attention to it the better.

8) Chapters / Walkthru / Story. W/E you want to call it. We have Chapters category so will stick with that. There is no one place where you can find all of these. Shouldnt we have list of them all somewhere, also shouldnt we have link on main page to those? Or would be adding to main page be too much of spoiler temptation?

Wiki really is just a helping tool for the game. So there's no real need for explanation of the Chapters which usually apply to Ten Year Storm, SS Graveyard, etc and there's links within the game. So usually the 1st island is the place to put Walkthrough / Story. However, you can make a List of Chapters if it isn't already made. Make sure you search for it first though, with keywords 'Chapter' to see if we already have it, as I think one of us made it before. I forget, is there a page that shows you every article on this FW Wiki?

Yes in special: area here Special:Allpages Kevin "Hawk" Fisher 09:25, June 12, 2017 (UTC)

a) Also adding Spoiler pages to ones not having them. I can do it, just not sure how best way to go about doing that. Especially since I dont know about redirecting. I will at least create Spoiler pages, and guess I can look for all pages linked and manually change them all. Unless you know better way.
  • Beach Hut / The Story of Ten Year Storm / Eye of the Storm Spoiler

no actual spoiler page for any (even though one has word spoiler in pagename

  • Shipwreck Explorer Spoiler Tutorial

no spoiler page

  • The Story of Saving Lucidia

no spoiler page

It's been awhile, but I can teach you about redirecting. Do you want help with it? Jeydo (talk) Search up the names of some of the early Waterport Quest dish names. Some of those I have redirected by their name.

http://fishwrangler.wikia.com/wiki/Cajun_Catfish?redirect=no And I have also made number entries like '1' that give links to Fish, poles, etc associated with it. Maybe you wanna help me continue that?

9) Island page. NM chart, lot of distances were changed, as such they are not all correct. Also why in that order? Can I change order so it is more reflective of Island order, which is also order you see in-game? I was kinda thinking of also breaking table down into 2 so you dont have to scroll through as much.

Make a example on your Talk page, and I'll give it a look. :) Please fix the distances if you can, we ran out of time in our busy lives to work on it.

It is helpful to look at. Those were the order they were released in the game I believe. Personally I hate the order Joe has it. It seems ordered by gold tbh. I know Parribea is at the end of the game, but we should be able to edit the island order IMO. Magma Reef is at the bottom of the Baby islands. But it's usually in order for clicking purposes

I fully agree with you, I don't like order Joe has it in either. However, for familiarity in keeping with both in-game, but more importantly with way its listed here in wiki on same Island page just above, I personally think it should match *shrugs* Anyway will get around to example chart later, I am still collecting data anyway to confirm all distances. Kevin "Hawk" Fisher 18:29, June 13, 2017 (UTC)

10) Category pages. I personally LOVE to navigate around wiki's by using category pages, sadly they arent used well here. 1 reason why I am working on category hierarchy, however another is to have them show table list of ALL items in that category. (ie click Category:Poles brings up table list sortable of ALL poles in-game) HUGE reason why also asked for DPL, as I dont know how go about doing this w/out. I have been tinkering around to find sol'n but so far to no avail. Sure I can eventually, just much harder.

As it stands now sure you have pages shown, but it counts all pages including things linked that shouldnt be counting (Users, Pole page itself, Pole leveling page, w/e). Also going beyond 200 has to be shown on another page right now. I think I know how to work around that with DPL as well as node limits.

I think it's done per 200 as majority of people don't need to see 200 entries & cutback on load times. Why do you say it's not used well? Or is it just your opinion, bc you like DPL? If you can show me on a test page in a Wikia that uses it, perhaps that would be best if you can't here. Thanks for being creative! Just I don't want huge changes or errors that might alter the experience or unfix things. Yet if it shows improvement, we can test it out & reel it in if it works well. Jeydo (talk) 02:15, June 12, 2017 (UTC)
You obviously havent tried navigating around using categories at bottom :P When you click one, and find it missing over half pages on wiki. That is not done well, it should be there to help assist not only admin but its users and anyone else trying to add to wiki. I have added heaps of pages to categories and prolly still few more I have missed or not certain best way to categorize, so its better now than it was. I admit yes I am biased towards DPL, but even w/out it, its why I am working on Category Hierarchy and trying to get all pages categorized correctly.
Actually I have navigated with those before Kevin (and I don't appreciate assumptions too - as I have added plenty of categories as well, so it used to be WORSE than before you started editing.)
Yet it's also not the only way, and it is more just there for a tag-line feature for the articles & find out associated entries. (Oh could you please add ' in your should/have not replies - Sorry it's a pet peeve of mine.) The real thing is not every page necessarily needs more than one category or multiple ones, as it can be a matter of opinion too. Like we don't need a category created for 'Male' or 'Female' fish.
It's also how users get 'Article Add' credits and badges on the Wikia, so if it's not there - go ahead and add them to the pages that are missing them. Or leave a few out, because it's how others can make small changes.
I do understand what you say, and tbh was kinda hoping you knew what DPL was. I understand it better but I am by no means an expert with it. I wouldnt have even asked for it if I could figure out 2 things. How make table list of pages in category .. and this darn frustrating images breaking all time in so many of our tables. Example check this link Ex1 and than click Category of Magic at bottom of page. Also check this example Ex2 and than click Part of Shadow Elf Set link in infobox which is all done by templates using DPL. Creating that page Shadow Elf Set, but also in item itself has command set=Shadow Elf Set, which auto adds that item to its set page. WAYYY beyond what I want to do here. Kevin "Hawk" Fisher 08:08, June 12, 2017 (UTC)
It might be frustrating, but at times I had to "study" to figure out how or why a break occurred. Just like a naming difference in one of the pages we found earlier, it's the small stuff. But I don't want to force you to work with just me, as if you inspect the HISTORY of some pages - you will find a admin or user who made the changes + can likely can explain the tables & what not more adept than I can. Plus you can meet more people that way too. Just suggesting it, as I won't always be able to answer in the future to each query. Yet if you keep maintaining the job you're doing, I feel it wouldn't hurt to eventually grant advanced site privileges here if I know you will be able to stick with it.

And before you submit changes, I hope you're using the Preview option as well. I have had image breaks before as well, but I am usually able to find out where the error is. Are you saying DPL avoids this or notifies you when you make a change that creates a specific break?

Sorry, I did not mean to imply that you haven't, as I have seen tons of work you have done, including adding categories to pages and have greatly appreciated that you have kept wiki going.
No I can't include the ' as I simply just don't know how :P
Nah seriously I understand and for long time had issues with lazy tech savy and bad grammar habits. I have more recently started to give in and end up doing some of them myself, usually when it is beneficial to me, like using the apostrophe. I have real bad habit of typing semicolon or worse enter key instead of hitting apostrophe key so haven't been using it as much. But I can and will if it bugs you so. Just hope all my prepositions (or lack thereof) usage doesn't bug you, as that I can't as easily change due to my slightly dyslexic nature.
Yes I use Preview button a LOT, however there are times when I don't. No DPL does not avoid or notify, it does have Debug command which controls error behavior (For example you can fix Farovian Tourny Shark node limit error so that it simply doesnt display anything instead of some error code) but DPL isnt worth it just for that. I was more referencing all these transclusion errors in lots of our tables. Especially images not showing hidden and/or revealed. Such as broken Poison Oak Fish on The Fish of Farovia where we have to manually type in actual Image File as only known means of fixing it. Often times it seems like it used to work and all sudden now it no longer does. Or such as broken Skill and Chum preference on Santa Francesca#What to catch table. DPL will not notify you, nor will it directly resolve it. But I am confident I could come up with table that it wouldn't do that, as I am thinking it is the #pos that is causing our issues and you don't even need to use that command with DPL. But once again it is not worth getting DPL solely for that either as we could have other issues. Just as I stated in my #5 above, I just think it is best to leave DPL alone for now .. which is sad because I don't think it is possible to create table list on category pages like I was wanting without it. Ah well. Kevin "Hawk" Fisher 18:29, June 13, 2017 (UTC)

Stories Edit

In regards to my #8 above, I have added Story page. If its not something you approve of, simply delete the page. However, I always had difficulty trying to find one of them and/or finding them all. The best area previously was from Islands page which had most but not all of them. Now we have place for them all. I also have completed #8a, so all pages should be directed to spoiler alert page first. Kevin "Hawk" Fisher 07:26, June 13, 2017 (UTC)

New page/article header and Category at the top. Edit

I found a reply that I thought was interesting and decided to share. A reply from Fandom Staff, User:TOR, in response to question about Categories now being shown at top and bottom of pages. While I still think most will not find need for them being at top, since most will prolly not want to look for other related pages until after reading the article, but meh don't see issue with trying either now that it has been explained. Also note about how important links inside of pages are and how unimportant headers seem to be (always did like FW wiki maing page having such good links).

A big part of what the header should DO for your wiki is provide great navigation to your readers.

A sad fact about the old nav (that you may not know) is that only about 1.5-2% of your readers ever used it. People predominantly find their way around the wiki using in-content links that you create using wikitext.

That's exactly what we want for most of the exploration-type moves that wikis are so good at providing. You know, I go to Luke Skywalker, from there to Vader, jump to Galactic Empire, and then to Battle of Yavin. All good. :) Point-to-point navigation, lets say.

What in content links are not too good at is taking you to a grouping. So I'm at Luke Skywalker and want to read about other Jedi. That's why we have categories, right?

So far, so obvious. Now, the thing is the categories are buried deep at the end of the page, which makes them hard to get to for a user who just wants to get from A to B and doesn't know our site very well yet.

That's why we're looking to see if placing the categories at the top helps these people. We're going to be checkin if these links are clicked a lot or not. And that's why we've put them on top while also keeping them at the bottom. :)

Adding info to Fish pages Edit

FYI: When adding any additional info to Fish pages. Please add it inside of the Template / FishInfo template. Guessing this is why a "Notes" field was created, as adding any info outside of the template tends to break tables when transcluding info from that page. As can be seen on your edit of Rainbow Chain Octo Fish where you added info below the template. So that has now broken any and all tables that fish is being called up into, as can be seen on Eye_of_the_Storm#What_To_Catch table which breaks the "Min. Skill" column and the link for the skill by calling up all that info in that space. Kevin "Hawk" Fisher 11:30, June 10, 2018 (UTC)
